The School of Clinical Health Sciences prepares students for specialized roles across the clinical care continuum, with a focus on diagnostics, communication sciences and behavioral health. Through rigorous, evidence-based training and immersive learning experiences, students develop the technical expertise and clinical judgment needed to assess, diagnose and support diverse patient populations. Ileana Ratiu

Ileana Ratiu

Interim school director

Ileana Ratiu has been named interim school director of the School of Clinical Health Sciences. Ileana, a clinical professor, has been program director of the Master of Science in communication disorders. As a licensed speech-language pathologist, she has clinical expertise in cognitive-communication disorders associated with traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, and other neurological conditions. Her research examines the cognitive and language effects of TBI and other conditions, with a focus on bilingual and multilingual populations. Under her leadership, the communication disorders program has increased in enrollment and national rankings, expanding clinical training opportunities and maintaining high licensure pass rates.
