Set yourself up for success by following these steps

As a first-year student, preparation is important. Information about your next steps is readily available on your My ASU page. We recommend that you start with completing priority tasks, such as:

  • Submit proof of immunization: ASU requires students to submit the MMR Immunization Form and required documentation in order to enroll.
  • Take the ALEKS Mathematics Placement Assessment: ASU requires all incoming freshmen to take a math placement exam online at least 48 hours prior to enrollment. You will not be able to register for a math or most chemistry courses without a math placement score.
  • Take or submit SAT, ACT or TOEFL scores: ASU uses your SAT, ACT and TOEFL score to advise you and place you in appropriate first-year composition courses. ASU's Office of Evaluation and Educational Effectiveness offers these exams on campus.
  • New Student Experience: Once you have either paid or deferred your enrollment deposit you will have access to begin the online modules. Through ASU Essentials and ASU Academic Foundations, you will be asked to provide information about any dual enrollment or AP/IB credit and complete other priority tasks such as the Math Placement test and submitting your MMR immunizations. This will enable you to register for the Academic Advising and Course Planning session where you will meet your College of Health Solutions advisors. They will reach out to you before the session to help you register for your first semester courses and will be available at the session to help adjust your schedule if needed.
  • Activate your ASU email account and check regularly for official university and College of Health Solutions communications.
