Pre-health internship registration and prerequisites

Before accepting an academic internship, you must be enrolled in the appropriate internship class with a 484 course prefix.

Students may not begin working at their internship until their Internship Learning Agreement has been submitted to the College of Health Solutions Placements Database and approved by an Internship Support Coordinator.

Questions about class enrollment? Please meet with your academic advisor.

  • When should I complete my internship?
  • How many credits should I register for?
  • What are my internship prerequisites?
  • Which class should I enroll in?
  • I can't enroll; can you please help me?

The internship course is a class, just like any other course at ASU. You must be enrolled in the appropriate 484 class through My ASU before you may accept an internship.

  • Internship dates must align with semester dates and the course syllabus.
  • All assignments must be completed through Canvas correctly and submitted on time throughout the semester.
  • A grade will be assigned, based on the course syllabus, at the end of the semester and completion of your internship.
  • The internship is a culminating experience that requires you to put in effort and time before the class to secure and receive ASU approval before starting your internship.
