MS/DI standard track – Two-Year combined program
The Master of Science in Nutritional Science and Dietetic Internship (MS/DI) standard track at Arizona State University is a two-year, Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics-accredited program.
Integrate research into practice
- Graduate education (33 credits) with a choice of a research thesis or an applied project
- Supervised practice (~1,100 hours, full-time in year two)
Earn resume-building accolades
- A Master of Science in Nutritional Science
- A verification statement from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Eligibility to sit for the Registration Examination for Dietitians (RDN Exam)

- Met the Didactic Program in Dietetics requirements from an ACEND-accredited program
Program completion requirements
- Complete all supervised practice rotation objectives
- Successfully complete a thesis or applied project
- Satisfy all MS degree requirements (33 credits)

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis with two deadlines each year
- Priority deadline: September 10
- Final deadline: January 15

Submit your application through the Dietetics Inclusive Centralized Application System (DICAS)
Required materials
- Verification statement from an accredited DPD program (within last five years)
- Resume (include relevant nutrition or health-related experience)
- Transcripts from all colleges or universities attended
- Three letters of recommendation
- Personal statement (≤ two pages, double-spaced) addressing:
- Significant professional responsibilities held
- Your goals and motivation for applying
- Strengths that support your success in the program
- Cultural competence and communication skills
- $50 application fee.

Step 2: Apply to ASU Graduate Admissions
After acceptance to the DI program, apply to the MS in Nutritional Science through ASU Graduate Admissions.
Your application must include the following
- Official transcript confirming bachelor’s degree
- Same resume and personal statement from DICAS
- In the recommendation fields, enter: Robin DeWeese, [email protected] (no additional letters required)
- Optionally indicate interest in Sports Nutrition or Maternal and Child Health concentration
Do not list degree prerequisite courses
- $70 application fee.
